DIED FROM OLD AGE,

Mrs. Mary West Passed Away

 at Her Home Here Tuesday Noon ----

Funeral Held Wednesday.

 

    Mrs. Mary West, a well-known resident of Red Oak, passed away at her home in Red Oak at noon Tuesday afternoon having been in failing health since November.  Her death was due to old age.  She was in her 73rd year.

   The funeral of Mrs. West was held at the Congregational Church at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Eddie preaching the funeral sermon. Singing was by Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Fisher; Miss Olive Worsley and F. E. Crandall.  Those who served as pallbearers were O. P. Worsley, W. W. Montgomery, Wm. Baxter, O. F. Remmers, Chas. Barton and T. C. Lloyd. Burial was in Red Oak cemetery.

   Those who were here from a distance to attend the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Sandell, of Craig, Missouri, Mr. and Mrs. Hazen Redfern, of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Ida West, Mary and Bertha West, Mrs. Sandell and Mary Sandell, of Griswold; Fred Sandell of Elliott.

    Mrs. West was born in Sweden on June 15, 1845, and came to America in 1852. She was married Oct. 1863, in Bureau county, Ill., to John West, who died here in 1871. Mrs. West is survived by one son, Ed West, of Emerson, and one brother, Chas. Sandell, of Elliott.

   Deceased was a member of the Congregational church.  She was a good woman and many friends extend sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.

    Rev. Herbert Clifford Driver died in Denver, Col., Saturday night from pneumonia following illness of ten days.  The remains were brought here for burial, funeral services by Rev. L. C. Cooley of the Presbyterian church being held at the home of .....  [NOTE: Incomplete copy]
