Benjamin Bryan, 85, Civil War veteran, died this morning at 2:00 o'clock at the state hospital in Clarinda, where he had been since April 6 for medical treatment. His body will arrive here tonight.

Mr. Bryan was born in Noble County, Ohio. He celebrated his 85th birthday last Thursday. He has been a resident of this city for a number of years. Since the death of his wife in November 1922 he has made his home with his children.

His seven surviving childres are Mrs. A. G. Lawshe, Mrs. Sherm Rae and Frank Bryan of Red Oak; Mrs. John Fortune of Humeston, IA; Herbert Bryan of Wichita, KS; Mrs. E. J. Kessler of Bunker Hill, KS, and Mrs. A. R. Chapman of Vallejo, CA.

At this time no arrangements for the funeral have been made pending the arrival of relatives.
