This group of men were WWI vets
who bought a bottle of wine and agreed that the last living member
would drink it and toast the others. My father Oliver S. is seated
left. I think that's Roy Westerlund (owned a bar & dining room just
west of the square) in the center and maybe a Mr. O'Malley (ran the
Iowa Power & Light office on the SW corner of the square) seated far
right. Russ Rickleton is in the back row, possibly on the left, he
had a show store on the square. [1950's] |
