• Lists: Name, age, sex, marital staus, birthplace, occupation, if a native of voting age, if owner of land, years in Iowa.

• 1860 Census: microcopy 653; Roll 336; Vol. 14, 1-181;
• Plymouth, Pochantas, Palo Alto, Mills, Mitchell, Monroe & Montgomery Counties.
• Lists: Name, age, sex, occupation, birthplace, value of real property and personal property.

• Lists: Name, age, sex, occupation, if father and mother were foreign or native born, value of real and personal property.

• 1880 Census: Vol. 24, 1-429;
• Monona, Monroe & Montgomery Counties.
• Lists: Name, age, sex, marital status, occupation, birthplace, and birthplaces of father and mother. Soundex available: Code index of families with children 10 years old and under in the home.

• 1885 Iowa State Census:
• Monona County to page 559; Monroe County, Townships of Bluff Creek, Cedar, Franklin, Guilford & Jackson.

• 1885 Iowa State Census:
• Montgomery & rest of Monroe County; Townships of Mantua, Monroe, Pleasant, Troy, Union, Urbana & Wayne.
• Lists: Name, age, sex, address in town, or rural section township and range, if born in the U.S., state is given but if born in Iowa the county is listed, if parents foreign or native born.

• 1900 Federal Population Census:
• Monroe & Monona Counties
• Lists: Name, age, month and year of birth, marital status, years married, number of children born to the wife and number living, birthplace of parents, year of immigration to U.S., if naturalized, occupation, literacy, if rent or own farm or home. Soundex available: Coded index to all households and singles living elsewhere.

• 1905 Register (index) to Iowa State Census, Monroe County
• Lists: Name, age, sex, occupation, birthplace, if owner of home or farm, and it's value, schooking, marital status, years in Iowa and years in U.S. This census on cards - each person has a card, adults and children but not alphabetical or chronological withi a county - and family may be dificult to assemble. There is a Register of names however - listed as census taker enumerated them.

• 1910 Monroe County, Iowa Federal Census
• Lists: Similar to 1900 but does not include month andyear of birth. Name, age, sex, occupation, year of immigration, if naturalized, birthplace and those of parents, literacy, if property is owned or rented.

• 1915 Iowa State Census, Monroe County
• Lists: Alphabetically within each county - name, age, sex, occupation, birthplace, church affiliation, parents' birthplaces, marital status, years in Iowa and U.S., if naturalized, military service, if property is owned.

• 1920 Census of Monroe County
• Lists: Name, relationship, personal description, nativity, citizenship, ability to speak English or other language, occupation, education, and ownership of home. Soundex available: Coded Index.
• 1925 Iowa State Census, Monroe County
• Lists: Most descriptive of all - name, age, sex, relationship to head of family, marital status, home owned or rented, if naturalized, number of years in Iowa, number of years in U.S., birthplace, names of parents and their birthplace, and place of marriage, military service, occupation, church affiliation.
