In 1847 and again in 1861 he was appointed sheriff. In 1858 and 1859 he was vice president
of the Monroe county Agriculture Society. This according to the book written about him by
Chester Fleetwood.

Chester Fleetwood's wife is a descendant of Ezra P. Cone. The book, entitled "Descendants of Ezra Parker Cone", is available at the Monroe County Library.
