Monroe County Coal Mines 1900-1901

In 1900 Monroe county had 18 mines employing 1148 miners paid a total of #392,924 including yardage, room turning, etc. There were 546 others employed by mines who were paid $236,531 including cost of supervision. There was a net increase of 1 mine in 1901. That year 1330 miners were employed who were paid $672,570 and there was a total of 618 others paid $273,255.
