Eli Beebe was born Jan. 29, 1855, in Monroe county, Iowa, and died June 14, 1942, in Lyman, Neb. He was married Oct. 21, 1875, to Mary Eikenbery. To this union were born; Josephine Bair of Waynesburg, Ore., Eva Jane Ewing of Lyman, Neb., and Ettie Fernetta, who passed away when a young girl. They moved in 1888 to Nebraska where they took a homestead at Scottsbluff and at Mitchell Valley. He then moved to Mitchell where he operated a butcher shop. On account of Mrs. Beebe's health they returned to Iowa where she passed away July 22, 1910, in Ottumwa. Later Mr. Beebe was married to Mrs. Adelia Bennett, who died Jan. 23, 1938, in Albia, Iowa. Mr. Beebe then went to Lyman, Neb., where he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Lem Ewing until the time of his passing. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters; Mrs. Lem Ewing of Lyman and Mrs. Josie Bair of Waynesburg, O., one brother, Harve of Mitchell, Neb., and one half sister, Mrs. W. H. Rhoads of Albia and one half-brother, George A. Smith, of Seattle, Wash.; several grandchildren besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Lived in Lucas Co. Iowa (1880 census); and Rose Precinct, Scotts Bluff Co., Neb. (1900 census).
