HASWELL, SPARLING
I am looking for some sort of document, newspaper article or other that mentions the marriage of Charles HASWELL and Ilona SPARLING (20 Aug 1889) in Onawa. I do not know if either of these persons lived in Monona County at the time or not. I believe my grandfather Charles lived across the river in Burt County, NE at the time and Ilona may have lived there as well. I know her brothers lived around Decatur later on. However, the info that I have is that they were married in Onawa, IA. Maybe they took a boat, the river wouldn't have been frozen in August. From one that knows - I was born and lived a number of years in Tekamah, across the river from Monona County.
