This picture is of Alwine Blocker Burmester (1858-9 - 1934) wife of John Henry Burmester (1842-1902) sitting in front. Unknown person far left may be Mary Ellen Hattery Luth; sitting on stool is Alwine's daughter Dora and standing at right is her daughter Anna. Mary Ellen and Anna were both milliners -- hence the fancy hats! This family lived in Ute, Monona, Iowa from 1893 to about 1902.
