James Porter Dorothy who was born 17 Aug 1885, in Ute, Iowa.  His parents were Edward Perry and Phoebe (Booher) Dorothy.  He was a home town boy; born, raised and is buried in St. Mary's cemetery next to his wife Grace Margaret (Winter).  He ran his father's hardware business and later became the Post Master of Ute, Iowa.

Leonard Schurdiven. His Mother was Helen McClain. She was the daughter of George and Cinderilla McClain. Cinderilla was a Walden-the daughter of Henry and Charlotte Walden. Leonard ended up in Norman County, MN.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Welsh on Satueday night.
Ticonic:
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jasper VanBuskirk a daughter on Wednesday 8Jan1900. It was reported a few weeks ago that a boy had come to brighten their home but it was a mistake. It's a daughter and just arrived last week. Jasper is very proud of her and wants everyone to know it.

~Mr. and Mrs. Will Riggs are happy over a baby boy who came to their home this week.
~Carl and Rebecca Lingren are the proud parents of a boy baby which arrived the first of the week.
~There has been much rejoicing out at Edgewater this week over the arrival of a baby girl. The three little boys are delighted because of a little sister and think the family is now complete as do the happy parents.

~A girl baby gladdened the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holmes on Thursday last week.
~Mrs. J.W. Drake, who has been the guest of her daughter Mrs. Seymour Smith, the past two weeks, returned home Monday. The baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Smith on the 25th is doing nicely.
Local News: Today at noon a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. H. Christofferson.

Local News: Our genial friend Ferd Brechwald is the happy father of a lovely girl baby born last Sunday night and everybody is congratulating him. Of course he is setting up the best Havanas the Brechwald factory can turn out.

Blencoe News: A little girl baby came last week Thursday to the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Loomis. It is their first daughter and all are delighted over the fact.

Turin: There is a nice girl baby at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Larson.

Ida Grove: Mrs. Brechwald will be remembered as the former Miss Lillie Belknap of Onawa, where her mother and brothers and sister have long resided. The Gazette and other friends extend congratulations.

We congratulate the parents and the little Miss but must confess that in this instance this business is really getting too close to home for the unqualified comfort of the editor, although in this day of contagious diseases, they say it isn't catchin'.
