This is a photo of the Newburg dam, looking northward from probably the Newburg bridge. It shows the original mill, which was on the west bank. The mill was destroyed by ice flows. Later, to take advantage of the dammed water, an Interstate power plant was built on the east side of the dam. Later, the dam was washed out.
You can still see the foundation of the power plant and portions of the dam.
The cemetery, on McKinley property, is barely visible on the hill above the dam. Neal Du Shane identified about 26 graves there in 2013.
