Lohr Cemetery

Progress is being made on the Lohr Cemetery--where the site has apparently been located, and color photos of the deteriorated grounds have been made.

These color photos of Lohr Cemetery in East Cedar Township, taken by Steve Ham in Sept. 2002, show the deteriorated cemetery. Here, for therecord, are the photos:

Click on the thumbnail photo on the left, to see a large photo showing (L-R)Robert Hollatz, Steve Ham, and Marlene Kerschner, as they attempt to locate a tombstone. The photo was taken on April 3, 2003. It is rumored that all the grave markers in this cemetery were wooden, and have long ago rotted away. History has recorded that five children are buried here, in addition to some adults, and that all five children died within 24 hours of each other. Photo submitted by Neal Du Shane.

Just wanted to get you updated on this. Got the cable around, tilted it up and leveled it off the best we could (roots roots) all over, but got mostof them cut off. Then seeded it with 15 lbs. of #4 grass seed and got a 1.5-2 ins. of rain, that should work. Still working on a marker of some kind, and maybe a gate. We might get creative and put some flowers in yet too.
