TEMPLETON REUNION
Mills County Tribune
September 28, 1911
There was a reunion of the Templeton families last Saturday, held at the K.P. hall in Pacific Junction. These families are now headed by W.G. Templeton of Old Pacific, Mrs. Jane Evans of the Junction, Mrs. Sarah Mendenhall of the Junction, and John Templeton of Almena, Kan. These were all present, but another sister, Mrs. Minerva Powell of Almena, Kan., was not able to be present.
A dinner was served at noon and the afternoon was spent in a fraternal visit and having group photographs taken.
There were 69 members of these families present, including four generations. These are descendants of David Templeton, an early-day surveyor in Mills county, who died at Old Pacific in 1873 and is buried in the Glenwood cemetery.
Of all these younger descendants, there is only one to perpetuate the name of Templeton-George, a grandson of James----and he was not present.
Among those from a distance was Miss Lizzie, daughter of John Templeton, from Almena, Kan; Mrs. Anna Wilson, Mrs. Verne Matthews, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson, from Tabor and near Tabor.
