SHAW FAMILIES HAD REUNION ON SUNDAY
SIXTY-SEVEN ATTEND THIRD ANNUAL EVENT AT GLENWOOD

There was a splendid attendance again at the third annual reunion and picnic of the Shaw family and their descendants at Glenwood lake park Sunday. Two long rows of tables down the dining hall were almost to the point of collapsing with the weight of the delicious food placed upon them. The weight however was quickly transferred when sixty-seven hungry people sat down at the tables to do justice to all the good things set before them.
After the noon lunch the business part of the meeting was taken up with Joe Shaw presiding. Minutes of the last year's meeting were read by the secretary, Mrs. Sam Shaw. The family history was read by Dr. Joe Morrow with some interesing incidents connected with it.
Ages at the reunion ranged from between sixty-nine, Joe Shaw being oldest, and three weeks, little Ronald Lee Shaw, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Shaw, being the youngest.
Three new members were added to the clan since the last meeting. They are: M.J. Maxted, Alice Atkins Shaw, and Alton Alberts.
Election of officers gave offices to the following:
President, Joe Shaw; secretary, Mrs. Sam Shaw. The following committees were appointed by the president: Arrangement, Henry Shaw and Sam Shaw, Program; Myrtle Maxted, Helen Shaw, Glee Shaw, Margaret Shaw, Annetta Shaw, Hazel Benscoter and Naomi Warner.
Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morrow and Mrs. Effy M. Banning, Seward, Nebr.; Mrs. M.J. Maxted, Oskaloosa; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shaw and Everett Shaw and family, Tabor; W.G. The next picnic will be held at the same place (Glenwood) the second Sunday in September, 1933.
EIGHTY-EIGHT OF SHAW DESCENDANTS HOLD REUNION HERE
DESCENDANTS OF JOSEPH AND RACHEL SHAW MET FOR THEIR FOURTH ANNUAL REUNION, IN GLENWOOD ARMORY SUNDAY, JOE SHAW PRESIDED
Eighty-eight descendants of Joseph and Rachel Shaw met on last Sunday afternoon here in Glenwood for their fourth annual reunion. A bountiful picnic dinner was enjoyed by the members of the family, followed by a short business session which was presided over by the president, Joe Shaw, of this city.
The officers for the past year were retained for the coming year and it was voted to hold the next meeting of this family here in Glenwood on the second Sunday of Sunday in September of 1935.
The list of family members present included the names of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shaw of Glenwood, Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Shaw and children Neva Dee and Bruster Wade of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shaw, Glee and Billy, of Bartlett; Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Shaw, Mary Alice and Merrill Allen, of Malvern; Wayne Shaw, Earl Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Shaw of Council Bluffs.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Grace, Cletus, Kenneth, Betty, Maxine and Melba, of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Louie Grace and Ward, of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Shaw and Hoyt of Tabor; Clarence E. The descendants of Joseph Shaw met Sunday in the Glenwood Armory for their sixth annual family reunion, which is held each year on the second Sunday in September. There were seventy-eight present.
A sumptuous dinner was served cafeteria style in the dining room at noon. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows; President, Henry Shaw of Tabor; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Doris Shaw of Tabor, and historian, Everett C. Shaw, also of Tabor.
The oldest person present was Joe Shaw of Glenwood, who was seventy-one, and the youngest was Kenneth Edward Shaw, three-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Shaw of Malvern. During the past year two deaths and four births have occurred in the family circle and there have been no marriages. Four generations were represented at the reunion; Sam Shaw and son of Malvern, Ralph Shaw and daughter of Charter Oak, and Mrs. Dearl King and son, Dearl King, Jr., of Schleswig, Iowa.
The afternoon was pleasantly spent visiting, with a basketball game in which old and young alike took part, furnishing merriment for all.

The Joseph and Rachel Shaw posterity met in the Glenwood armory Sunday, Sept. 8, for their sixth annual reunion and picnic. Although it had rained and the roads were muddy 80 were present to do justice to the dinner served cafeteria style at noon. After all had eaten and the tables were cleared the business meeting was held and the following officers chosen:
President, Henry Shaw, Tabor; vice president, Mrs. Susie Benscoter, Hancock; secretary and treasurer, Mrs. Dorris Shaw, Tabor; historian, Everett C. Shaw, Tabor.
Joe Shaw, 71, of Glenwood, was the oldest person present and Kenneth Edward, three months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Shaw of Malvern, the youngest present. There were four generations of the Sam Shaw family present, Sam Shaw, Malvern; Ralph Shaw, Charter Oak; Mrs. Dearl King and baby, Dearl, Jr., Schleswig.
Since the last reunion there have been four births, two deaths and no marriages. The next reunion will be held Sept. 6, 1936 at Glenwood.
Following the business meeting all adjourned to the auditorium where old and young enjoyed a basketball game and visiting.

The Shaw families and their descendants held their eighth annual picnic Sunday at the Glenwood armory with sixty present. Officers elected for next year were Walter Shaw of Bartlett, president; Pearl Shaw of Blencoe, vice president; Susie Benscoter of Oakland, secretary and Everett C. Shaw of Red Oak, historian. Those present from the greatest distance were Effie Banning, Seward, Neb., and Mrs. M.J. Maxted and children of Oskaloosa, Ia., Mrs. Eva Kier of Glenwood and Ralph Peters of Walnut were visitors.
SHAW FAMILY REUNION AT RED OAK SUNDAY
MRS. VANCE ERICKSON TO HEAD FAMILY GROUP

Seventy members of the Geo. E. Shaw family were present at a reunion Sunday, Aug. 11, held at the Chautauqua park in Red Oak.
A basket dinner was enjoyed at noon. Paul Shaw of Hastings presided during the noon hour and made announcements for the afternoon. The largest family representation was that of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. McLain of Hastings.
At the close of dinner all members joined in community singing which had always been a custom at these family gatherings in the George E. Shaw home. Kenneth Shaw of Shenandoah and Mrs. Stuart Honeyman of Red Oak lead the singing.
The business meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. L.M. Strite of Red Oak.
Election of officers was held and the following were selected for the coming year; president, Mrs. Vance Erickson of Red Oak; vice-president, Mrs. Harry Lawton of Jefferson; secretary, Mrs. Lowell Curtis of Emerson; historian, Mrs. Alvin Jordan of Chicago, Ill.
