SAWYERS FAMILY

HAPPY REUNION OF SAWYERS FAMILIES
MEMBERS OF SAWYERS FAMILIES GATHER AT HOME OF MR. AND MRS. JAMES SAWYERS
Mills County Tribune
January 1, 1920

The bob sled started bravely with the load of twelve, having Balfour as its destination. The bare road of the subway was a hoodoo to the sled. Fortunately some Fords journeyed that way and most of the bob sled load eventually reached the cozy home of Mr. and Mrs. James N. Sawyers.

The cause of the desire to reach Balfour was to join with others in a reunion of the Sawyers families and as a goodbye visit with Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Kelly, who are soon to bid farewell to Mills county. The gathering was also in honor of visiting relatives. The home of brother James Sawyers was chosen as the place by his request. They all came but brother William of Ainsworth, Neb.

Those coming from a distance to enjoy that reunion were Mr. and Mrs. Eli Sawyers of Ainsworth, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McConaha of Fulton, Mo. Included in this happy gathering was of course Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Kelly and daughters Bernice and Ethel of Glenwood, Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Hutchings of Glenwood, parents of Mrs. Sawyers, Mrs. Charles Cary, Red Oak; sister of Mrs. Sawyers, Robert Boyce, Glenwood, the two brothers Lon and John of Glenwood vicinity and their families. These with the above mentioned four spent as happy Sunday as they could ask. It was a gladsome day for all concerned and the writer rejoices that this opportunity came to them.
