The third annual reunion of the L.D. McMullin descendants was held at Glenwood Sunday, August 12. L.D. McMullin and wife were pioneer settlers of Mills county having come immediately after the close of the Civil War, in which Mr. McMullin served the last two years. They settled on a farm three and one-half miles north of Hastings, Iowa and resided there continuously for many years. After retiring from business activities, they spent the last few years of their lives in a nice comfortable home in Emerson, Ia. Mr. McMullin was widely known to all the leading citizens and business man of Mills and Montgomery counties, having been for many years the leading contractor and builder, helping to build up most of the towns in these two counties.

Their family consisted of three sons and six daughters, Frank E. eldest and Edwin S. youngest sons and one daughter, Mrs. Fannie Baldozier are now deceased; J.W. Fries, Omaha was elected vice president; Iva Patterson, Council Bluffs, secretary-treasurer and Mrs. Rudolph H. Fires, press correspondent.

McMullin and wife have at this writing, 123 living descendants, with representative families in the following states, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minneapolis, California, Oregon, Washington, Texas and Florida. Many greetings were received from members of the families unable to be present.

Those in attendance were: Mr. and Mrs. J.W. McMullin, Emerson, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Salmons, Emerson; Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Pratt, Mr. and Mrs. L.D.
