Celebrate Birthdays of Mrs. Catherine Lang and Son, Frank, at Emerson
Monday was the eighty-seventh birthday of Mrs. Catherine Lang and Saturday was the sixty-fourth birthday of Frank Lang, so about fifty-seven of their relatives took their dinners and went to the M.E. church Sunday to help them celebrate the occasion which proved to be a most enjoyable one.
At noon dinner was served in the basement of the Methodist church with everyone seated at the beautifully decorated tables. Rev. M.B. Wilson gave thanks.
It was decided to make the reunion an annual affair and the following officers were elected: Frank Lang, president; Miss Pearle Lang, vice president; and Mrs. Marion Lang, secretary and historian.
The meeting place for next year will be in the Emerson park on the third Sunday in September.

LANG FAMILY REUNION WAS HELD IN EMERSON SEPT. 18

The third annual reunion of the Lang family was held in the basement of the Methodist church Sunday, Sept.. 18. It was planned to hold it in the Emerson park but on account of the disagreeable wind it was decided to go to the church basement where the dinner was greatly enjoyed by all.

The committee in charge of the reunion included Miss Pearle Lang, Frank Lang, and Mrs. Marion Lang. The officers elected for 1933 were Walter Lang, president; Marion Lang, vice president; Mrs. Harold Smith, secretary; Pearle Lang, treasurer; Mrs. Marion Lang, Mrs. Ora Douglas, and Mrs. Glen Confer, entertainment committee.
The meeting for next year is to be held on the third Sunday in September.
LANG REUNION AT WAYSIDE SUNDAY

Gathering Honors Birthday of Mrs. Catherine Lang
Sunday, Sept. 17, was a red letter day for the members of the Lang family and their relatives, it being their annual reunion date. As Mrs. Catherine Lang's birthday is Sept. 21, at which time she will be eighty-nine, the gathering was also in honor of her birthday.
The place chosen for the reunion this year was Wayside Lake west of Emerson where a picnic dinner of fried chicken and all the other good things that make a picnic a real success, was served at noon cafeteria style.
Election of officers took up a part of the afternoon and the remainder was spent with contests and games. Officers elected for the coming year were Miss Pearl Lang, president; Marion Lang, vice president; Mrs. Harold Smith, secretary and treasurer. Chairman entertainment committee, Mrs. Ralph Hall; refreshment committee, Mrs. Frank Lang, Mrs. W.R. Shepard, and Mrs. Frank Cardiff.

LANG-KESTERSON REUNION SUNDAY

The Kesterson-Lang family reunion was held Aug. 21 at Fairmont park picnic grounds in Council Bluffs, with about 73 present.
After a bountiful basket dinner a short business meeting was held. At this time Alfred Anderson was elected president; Faye Smith, secretary-treasurer and Laura Snodgrass, historian.
Walte Lang, 88, was the oldest member present, and Roger Dean Mount was the youngest, just one week old.
Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Brumfield and family of Hershey, Neb., and Mrs. Harold Reeves and James of Rock Island, Ill., came the farthest distance.

Games and play ground equipment were greatly enjoyed by the youngsters. Visiting and taking pictures filled the afternoon for the others.
A treat of ice cream closed the afternoon fun for all.
