Some Fifty Members of This Family Enjoyed Day Together With Games and Contests and Sumptuous Dinner Officers Elected
Sunday was a happy day at the F.S. Killmon home where some fifty descendants of G.H. Killmon met in reunion, and as Mrs. F.S. Killmon has August 26 as her natal day her children made a double event of the occasion by celebrating her birthday at this time. Needless to say there was a sumptuous dinner which everyone enjoyed. The large birthday cake was in evidence and was a piece of culinary excellency.
The afternoon was spent in games and contests of various kinds. In the slipper kicking contest Gayle Killmon won first and the consolation prize went to Crystal Deupree of Neligh, Neb. In the bean and bottle contest Fred Chambers and Merle Killmon tied for first place and Lillie Evans of Persia was second. In the ladies foot race Florence Hemindinger won first place and Dorothy Slaughter won second. The men's foot race was won by Fred Chambers, Wilbur Evans tying for second. Ladies nail driving contest was won by Fay Evans with Ida Chambers, second.
A short business session was held at which time it was decided to make these reunions an annual affair and the date for next year's meeting was set for August 5 at the home of James McGinty at Persia. The officers for the coming year elected were as follows: President--Mrs. F.S. Killmon, Glenwood, Secretary and treasurer--Mrs. Ida Chambers, Persia.
The only guests present not members of the family circle were Mrs. Emma Padgett and daughter, Clara Mayberry of this city, who were invited guests.
