JONES PICNIC HELD AT THE DECKER HOME

90 Descendants and Guests Attend Eighth Annual Event Sunday

Ninety descendants and friends of the Allen P. Jones family met Sunday for their eighth annual picnic in the timber south of the E.A. Decker home. After the bountiful dinner, a short business meeting was held. The history of the family was read and officers elected for another year. Mrs. Blanche Decker was named president and Albert Batten secretary. It was decided to hold the picnic next year at the Glenwood park the last Sunday in August.

The afternoon was pleasantly spent visiting and playing games.

Those present were: Mrs. Jane Heck and son, Mildred Milner, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Jones and daughter, Mrs. Martha Jones, Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Glebe and daughters, Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Soliday, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Soliday and son, Valparaiso, Ind.; Francile Binnal and Lloyd Walker, Omaha; J.H. Carr, Spaulding, Nebr.; Clarence Bolte, Atlantic; Mr. and Mrs. E. Alvin Decker, Neola; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ray and son, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Batten and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Gail Decker and daughter, Glenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Soliday and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Walker, Mrs. Viva Cozad and daughter Betty Hatfield, Mr. and Mrs. Homer McGlade, Malvern; Alva Jones and family, Elsworth Jones and family, Allen Jones and family, Jackie Osborn, Geo. Ord and family, Ray Batten and family, E.A. Decker and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Decker and Guy, Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Wilhelm and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bolte.


ATTEND JONES FAMILY REUNION AT RED OAK

The annual T.R. Jones family reunion was held Sunday, July 21, at Chautauqua park in Red Oak. There was the usual picnic dinner at noon, followed by the business meeting. Picture taking, selected groups and candid, and swimming were the chief activities of the day. Those attending from Mills County were: Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Dawson of Glenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Parle Kelley, Phyllis, Wendell and Richard of Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jones, Marilyn, Wendell and Delaine of Emerson.

Others present were: Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bedford and family and Miss Mildred Jones, Omaha, Neb.; Miss Thontelle Jones, Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. Bill R. Jones, Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and T.R. Jones, Red Oak; Mr. and Mrs. Amos Wagoner and Miss Mary Anna Hughes, Clarinda; Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Jones, Leland and John and Mr. and Mrs. Wortley Jones and Charles, Mr. Marion Wood of Council Bluffs was a guest.

Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Jones and Donna of Tabor, Mr. and Mrs. George Jones and family of Sidney, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jones and son of Randolph, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Shippy and family of Salem, Ore., Mr. and Mrs. Goy Gargee and children of Taft, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lidgett and Connie of Glenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Don Gray of Omaha, Mrs. Ruth Brown and children of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Roy Beck, Lois and Arline of Shenandoah, Charlotte Ford of Council Bluffs and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Razer and family attended the Dewey Jones reunion at the Glenwood Lake Park Sunday.

It was the first time the family had been together in eight years.
