HYDE FAMILY REUNION HELD HERE SUNDAY
Glenwood Opinion Tribune
August 29, 1940

Seventy members of the Hyde Family Association met in fourth annual reunion last Sunday at the Glenwood Lake Park. Picnic lunch was served at one o'clock. Music was furnished by Ben Hyde and Miss June Bomer. The same officials were re-elected for the coming year: B.C. Hyde, president; Sim Van Winkle, vice president; Tom Kirk, secretary-treasurer. The same place was chosen for the next reunion the fourth Sunday in August, 1941. Tokens of respect were awarded to Mrs. Martha Kirk and Ben Hyde as the only two survivors of the original family.

Those present from a distance were: Mrs. S.A. Van Winkle and Dolores, Mr. and Mrs. Clif Van Winkle and Jean, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Van Winkle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Van Winkle, Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Randels and Virgil, Mrs. Robert Rodstron and Rodney, Lewis Etherington and daughter, Norma, all of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Hyde, Mr. and Mrs. George Thun, Claudine and Dayle Frazier, Mrs. Ralph R. Hyde, Robert Lanphear, all of Plattsmouth, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Arch Jeffries, Mrs. Joe Saunders, Jas. J. Jeffries, Miss Dorothy Damran of St. Joseph, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Brissey and Everett Brissey of Brock, Neb.; Miss Clara Rosenthal of Syracuse, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Seecrist of Ainsworth, Neb.


HYDE FAMILY REUNION SET FOR AUGUST 28TH

August 25, 1955

The descendants of Edmon F. and Nancy Ann (Freeman) Hyde will have their 17th annual reunion this year on Sunday, Aug. 27th, at the Glenwood Lake Park. The last time they were in Glenwood for the event was in August of 1941.

The Hyde clan now comprises about 240 families, scattered over this country, and some foreign countries.
