Members of the Family from Three States met in Annual Reunion Here. Carter Family Drives 600 Miles to Be in Attendance
Eighty-nine members coming from the States of Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri, attended the annual Hiatt family reunion held at Glenwood Lake Park here Sunday. Arther Carter and family held the long distance record coming from Lyman, Nebr., up near the Wyoming border, a distance of 600 miles. Mr. Carter, a newspaper man, and he and his family drove down the last of the week but had to start back Sunday night in order to get out the next edition. A pleasing feature of this year's reunion was the presence of Mrs. W.B. Pickens, Mrs. Mellie Porter, both of this city, Mrs. Howard Mintle of Cambridge, Iowa, and Mrs. W.S. Jordon of Pacific Junction, four sisters all of whom have been quite ill during the past year but who were able to be present at the reunion here Sunday. A short program of talks followed the sumptuous dinner served at the Lake Park pavillion. The following officers were elected for the coming year.
President, Ribles Hiatt, Sidney; secretary, Ada Williams, Omaha; treasurer, Manoah Porter, Omaha; historian, Esther Pickins, Omaha.
The reunion next year will be held at Sidney, Iowa.
MEMBERS OF HIATT FAMILY HOLD REUNION IN ARMORY

The eighth annual reunion of the Joseph and Martha Hiatt family was held Sunday, Aug. 19, in the Glenwood armory, with 95 present.
Relatives were present from California, Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa. Those coming the longest distance being Mrs. Erma Anderson and daughters of Los Angeles.
After a bountiful picnic dinner a short business meeting was held at which the following officers were elected to serve the coming year: Carvel Jordan, Glenwood, president; Grayford Jordan, Pacific Junction, vice president; Vesta Wood, Omaha, secretary.
It was unanimously decided to hold next year's reunion at the armory. The rest of the afternoon was spent in visiting and all felt it was one of the most enjoyable reunions ever held.

Forty-six descendants of Joseph and Martha Hiatt, pioneer settlers of Fremont county, met in the Glenwood armor in the annual reunion Sunday.
Officers elected were: Greyford Jordan, Glenwood, president; Mrs. Ralph Chase, Glenwood, vice president; Mrs. Vesta Wood, Omaha, secretary; Mrs. Irene Carter, Sidney, historian.

Fifty descendants of the family of Joseph and Martha Hiatt met for their thirteenth annual reunion in the parlors of the Church of Christ here Sunday.
Among those present were Mrs. Robert V. Ingram of New York, N.Y. and Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Jordan and son, Merle, of Los Angeles, Calif. The afternoon hours were spent informally and plans were made to hold next year's reunion in Omaha.
Officers elected included: President, Glen Jordan, Omaha, vice president, Emil Thornton, Sidney; secretary, Vesta Thornton Wood, Omaha.

Some 35 descendants of the late Joseph and Martha Hiatt met for their 24th annual reunion at the Glenwood Armory on Sunday, Aug. 22.
Following a picnic dinner at noon, a business meeting was held. Officers elected for the silver anniversary year were; President, Manford Hiatt, Creston; vice-president, Delmar Carter, Sidney; secretary, Mrs. Leta Darner, Ottumwa; treasurer, Mrs. Raymond Mintle, Glenwood; historian, Mrs. Wilma Porter, Stanton.
Coming the greatest distance were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Thornton who live at Shawnee, Okla. Mrs. Eliza Hiatt of Shenandoah, who is the mother of Mrs. Ralph Chase, and Mrs. Irene Carter of Sidney, shared honors as the oldest members present.
