An unusual family reunion was held Tuesday night at the Herbert Harris home in Pacific Junction. The plans began when Mrs. Curt Harris welcomed as guests in her home, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Stites of Springfield, Ill. Mrs. Harris and Mr. Stites are brother and sister, but had not seen each other for 34 years. She also welcomed her son, Samuel Rathje of Decatur, Ill., whom she had not seen for 20 years.
Monday they all went to Norfolk, Nebr., where they looked up acquaintances and friends of former years. They found a sister, Lizzie Schwertefer, whom Mrs. Harris thought had died. The sister, although 78 years old, is still in very good health. It was the first time Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Schwertefer had seen each other for more than 50 years.
They also found a nephew, Earl Schwertefer, in Omaha.
