TELEGRAPHIC FAMILY GETS TOGETHER FOR FIRST TIME IN TWENTY-FIVE YEARS

A telegraphic family got together in Pacific Junction during the week end. Five brothers, all sons of the late Martin Gleason, gathered at the E.V. Gleason home when one of them, John Gleason of Lynwood, Calif., arrived here for a visit.
E.V. Gleason is a telegraph operator. John Gleason has retired as a telegraph operator. R.L. Gleason of Red Oak, another brother, also has just retired after serving the Burlington Railroad for 50 years as a telegraph operator. Two other brothers were present. They were Harry Gleason of Elliott, and Dan Gleason of Shenandoah, both telegraph operators. A sister, Mrs. Lee Coslett of Nebraska City, also came, but her husband is a retired post office employee. He broke the telegraphic chain.
E.V. Gleason's son, Richard Gleason, is a telegraph operator at Pacific Junction. Harry Gleason has a son, Donald, who is a telegraph operator at Red Oak. John Gleason has a son, Charles, who is an operator at Kansas City, Mo. Their father also was a telegraph operator for many years at Riverton, Iowa.
It was the first time the six children and their families had all been together at one time for about 25 years. They had dinner at the Brick Inn in Tabor, then went to the Dan Gleason home in Shenandoah to spend Sunday evening. John Gleason left the same evening for Grand Island to visit with relatives.
