Mills County Tribune
August 21, 1919

According to plans mentioned in a previous issue of the Tribune, Sunday, August 17, saw the spacious home of Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Boyer in Glenwood filled with a happy company.

This was the fifth time in which the Boyer families have united in an annual reunion. It is an event that has grown in importance each year and is looked forward to by members of the family with happy anticipation.

More than two score members of the Boyer genealogy were present on this occasion and the day was especially pleasing to Mother Boyer. During the past year Mother Boyer at one time was quite sick, but her rugged constitution aided her in the fight with disease and she won. That she was in such health as to enjoy the reunion was a pleasure to her friends as well as to her immediate family.

Those present were Herman Hegenberger and family, McCook, Neb.; C.W. Boyer, A.L. Boyer and children, L.A. Emerine and family, A.H. Rathke and family, Mr. and Mrs. Conkling, all of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Joe Hegenberger and Mrs. Newbower of McCook, Neb.; S.J. Boyer and family, F.H. Boyer and family, and Mahlon Boyer and family and Mother Boyer, making a total of forty-three present at the reunion.
