Glenwood Opinion
September 6, 1922

The following interesting news item reached us too late for our last issue:

Mr. and Mrs. Zeno Bass Sr. of Malvern, enjoyed a very pleasant family reunion and home coming down at the home of their son Zeno Bass Jr. near Strahan. All the children were present, with the exception of one daughter, Mrs. C.E. Dillehay, of Logan, who was unable to come.

There were altogether about 55 in the company including the five children and their families, 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and wives and husbands of children and grandchildren, and a few friends.

They met at noon at the beautiful Bass home and were served a big picnic dinner cafeteria style, which they ate on the lawn and on the big porches. It was a day long to be remembered by Mr. and Mrs. Bass and their descendants and so much enjoyed by all of them that they are already planning on making it an annual event. All the children and grandchildren present were very enthusiastic about this for they say they had about the best time they ever enjoyed at any picnic.

Those present were: Zeno Bass Sr. and wife, C.F. Timmons and family of Valley, Nebr.; Mayo Bass and family of Geneva, Nebr.; A.C. Hodges and family of Hastings, Ia.; Louis Bass and family of Malvern; Zeno Bass Jr. and family of Strahan; Morquette Throckmorton and family of Central City, Nebr.; Roscoe Frazier and family of Ceresco, Nebr.; Otto Timmons and wife of Omaha; Ivan Timmons and family of Ashland, Nebr.; Rex Timmons and family of Valley, Nebr.; Chas. Gipe and family of Strahan; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Gipe of Strahan; U.R. Graves and family of Malvern.
