AISTROPE FAMILY REUNION AT MALVERN

More than 100 members of the Aistrope family met at Malvern Sunday for a family reunion, which was held in the Malvern community building. A sumptuous basket dinner was served at noon,
while the afternoon was spent in visiting and a short program consisting of a history of the Aistrope family, who are decendants of T.M. Aistrope, an Englishman, coming to America in the early days.
T.M. Aistrope, Jr., of Tabor was made president of this family group and plans were made for a similar reunion to be held each year.

The descendants of Thomas Marlin and Jane Whatt Aistrope held a reunion Sunday, August 19 in the grove at the old Aistrope home place, four miles south of Malvern.
After the dinner of fried chicken and all the trimmings the president, T.M. Aistrope II of Tabor called meeting to order. The sons and daughters of the Thomas Aistrope family were called upon to give talks
and their reminiscing was very interesting to the grandchildren and great grandchildren. The sons-in-law were told of their courting days at the old home place. Mrs. Margaret Cunningham read a letter written
to her by her father while she was visiting in England in 1877, at the time the youngest of the family, Henry was a wee baby. Mr. Aistrope wrote that the baby was a fine big boy and he felt like going out and
earning a farm for him.
Mrs. Willis E. Reed of Madison, Nebr., secretary, announced that there were 104 descendants last year and three had passed away since last year, and there had been no births. Two of the daughters,
Mary Jane Davis and Sarah Goodwin, were taken and one great grandchild, Donner Aistrope was taken during the past year.
Officers for the next year were elected Mrs. Margaret Cunningham, president; T.M. Aistrope, II, vice president; Mrs. Willis E. Reed, secretary, and Clifford D. Aistrope, treasurer, and
Mrs. Fred J. Buttmann, historian.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in games and contests and some of the older men tried to compete with the younger in high jumps, base ball, etc.
The committees for the reunion were: Arrangements, Henry Aistrope, Walter G. Aistrope, and Fred E. Mulholland. Dinner committee, Mrs. William W. Aistrope, Mrs. C.O. Adamson, and Mrs. Bertha Hall.
Those of the family attending the reunion this year were: M.T. Davis of Malvern, Mr. and Mrs. George Gaston and son Ralph of Tabor.

Annual Gathering Sunday Attended by 52 Relatives

The descendants of Thomas Marlin and Jane Whatt Aistrope held their annual reunion last Sunday in the gymnasium at Tabor. There were fifty-two present this year.
After the dinner the afternoon was spent in a business meeting and visiting. The roll call showed there were no deaths the past year but the first great grandchild had been born into the family,
namely, Stanley Owen Mason, great grandchild of Mrs. Margaret Aistrope Cunningham.

Sixty-one Descendants Gather Sunday for Program and Picnic

The descendants of Thomas Marlin and Jane Whatt Aistrope held their annual reunion last Sunday at the old farm home on which Mr. and Mrs. Ira E. Fritz now reside. There are 61 present.
After the dinner the meeting was presided over by the president, Mrs. Alice Mae Aistrope Reed. The roll call showed that there were three additions to the family during the past year and one taken away by death.
Mrs. Donald Cunningham serving as proxy for the historian, Mrs. Viola Mulholland Sharratt, read a poem in memory of the departed.
The officers for the new year were elected as follows: President, Frederick Aistrope, Mulholland; vice president, Clifford Donner Aistrope; secretary, Donald O. Cunningham; treasurer, Mrs. Florence Aistrope Adamson;
historian, Mrs. Viloa Mulholland Sharratt.
M.T. Davis recalled to mind that 64 years ago he was married to Mary Jane Aistrope and the wedding supper was served under the very trees where this picnic was held. The trees were planted by Thomas M. Aistrope
when the house was built about 72 years ago.

The descendants of Marlin and Jane Watt Aistrope held their tenth annual reunion Sunday at the old home place south of Malvern now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Fritz. Some 59 members of the family attended the affair
which included a picnic dinner a noon and election of officers for the coming year.

The descendants of Thomas Marlin and Jane Whatt Aistrope held their 11th annual reunion Aug. 22, at the Aistrope home place.
A picnic dinner was served which was enjoyed by all. The business meeting was presided over by the president, C.D. Aistrope. Officers were elected for the year as follows: President, Marshall A. Cunningham;
vice president, Frank Kilpatrick; Secretary, Alice Jane Aistrope McMahill; Treasurer, Wahnetta Aistrope Anderson; Historian, Viola Mulholland Sharraft.
Mrs. Mae Reed who was unable to be present sent the following poem which was read by Alice Jane McMahill in memory of Mrs. Margaret Cunningham:
She lived a life of service
Wide in scope
And full of kindly deeds
For she had many talents
And she used them well.
Her labor here is done
But lovely glowing memories
Shall live within our hearts
Down through the years.

The annual reunion of the descendants of Thomas Marlin and Jane Whatt Aistrope was held Sunday in the Malvern Community building.
A delicious dinner, served cafeteria style, was enjoyed by all.
Marshall A. Cunningham, president, presided during the business meeting. An interesting letter from Ethel Cunningham Hume was read by Mrs. Mae Reed. Officers elected for the year were:
