Aistrope, Charles, a popular and well known young farmer living south of Malvern, in White Cloud Twp. died Friday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Birdie Rhode at Ft. Lupton, Colo. of typhoid fever. The remains were brought to Malvern and the funeral was held from the home, services being conducted by Rev. Wilkins of the Malvern Baptist church. Deceased was a member of Silver Urn Lodge, AW & AM and his brother Masons attended in a body. Interment was made in Malvern cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Aistrope had gone with several Malvern friends for an outing of 2 weeks in Colorado. Mr. Aistrope was not feeling too well when he left Malvern. A trip up Pike's Peak had a very ill effect upon him and a day or so later, he was taken sick at the home of his sister at Ft. Lupton. Anderson, Mrs. Frank W. passed away rather unexpectedly Sunday night at her home in Silver City. She had been suffering from pneumonia in a mild form for about two weeks. This developed into peritonitis two or three days before her death and was the cause of her demise. (11 Jun 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Badham, A., a prominent citizen of Henderson, died suddenly on Tuesday of last week. He was sitting in a chair at his home when he dropped over dead. Heart failure was the cause. (26 Nov 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Barnes, J. E. After weeks of weary suffering from what developed into cancer of the stomach, J. E. Barnes, one of the well known residents of the east side of the county died early last Sunday morning at his home in NW Deer Creek. Although sick for some time past, he was confined to his bed but a few days at the close. The funeral was held from the late home on Tuesday at 2 o'clock and was one of the most largely attended ever known in that vicinity for Mr. Barnes had resided there for more than 50 years and was well known to the older residents and liked by all who knew him. Beckwith, Mrs. Ella. Word was received by Tabor friends of the death of Mrs. Ella Beckwith at her home in Malvern Wednesday morning. Her death was very sudden, caused by paralysis. (26 Mar 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Bellwood, Mrs. Alfred (Malvern) after a long period of illness extending from the first of this year, passed away at her home SE of Malvern Tuesday evening 27 Apr 1909. (07 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Bickford, Oscar A. During the Decoration Day exercises at Hastings, an old soldier, Oscar A. Bickford, snare drummer in the band, was stricken with heart failure and carried out of the church by his comrades, dead. (04 Jun 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Burgess, Mrs. B. C., died 20 Mar 1909 at the home of a son near Trumbull NE. The deceased was 86 years of age. She was a resident of Glenwood for 15 years, leaving there about 3 years ago. (26 Mar 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Clapp, Wm. D. --Miss Lora Cunningham went to Glenwood Tuesday of last week on account of the death of her grandfather, Wm. D. Clapp. She returned to her studies (Tabor College) Friday. (12 Feb 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Cottrill, Dave. Word was received here this week that Dave Cottrill, a son-in-law of T. F. Summers formerly of Strahan was killed by lightening at his home in SD last Sunday. (28 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Dunsdon, James died Friday night at his home NW of Tabor, after an illness of only eight hours. He was stricken with apoplexy about 3 o'clock in the afternoon and died at 11. Although he had been suffering from an attack of grip, his condition was not considered serious, and at the time stricken was walking about the yard. Mr. Dunsdon was one of the oldest settlers of Rawles Twp. He was a native of England and was 70y 4m and 28d old. Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters and two sons; Mrs. Chas. Watkins of Tabor; Mrs. Robert McClenahan of Henderson; Misses Susie and Virtue Dunsdon, George and Roy Dunsdon. In the passing of Mr. Dunsdon, the community loses a good citizen and a kind neighbor. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Elder Charles Fry of Burlington, Iowa, after which the remains were interred in the Dawsonburg cemetery south of Tabor. Evans, John, Sr. father of M. L. Evans of Emerson, died Thursday morning of last week at his home in Decorah IL. The remains were brought to Emerson for burial, funeral services being held Sunday afternoon. The deceased lived in Malvern some years ago and was in partnership with the late J. M. Goltry, Mrs. John. It will be recalled that in the death of Mrs. John Goltry, 03 Jan 1909 at her home in Rawles Township NW of Tabor, the husband was left with 5 small children, the youngest being about a week old. Being unable to properly care for the little ones, Mr. Goltry will take them this week to the Children's Home at Council Bluffs. He will leave them there till he can make other arrangements for their care. He will work on a farm near Glenwood for the coming year. (19 Feb 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Guyer, Mrs. Helen L., a former well-known resident of Glenwood died very suddenly Tuesday of last week at her home in Grand Island NE. The remains were brought to Glenwood for burial, funeral services being held there Friday afternoon at the Baptist church. Her husband died some 20 years ago. Will Guyer, a son, resides at Malvern. Harrison, William, for 18 years janitor of the Mills County Courthouse, died last Saturday morning at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. The funeral occurred Monday at Glenwood, services being conducted by Rev. Brainard. The offices at the courthouse were closed during the funeral and the officials attended in a body. Hoxie, William, asserted to be 103 years old, died suddenly on Christmas morning at the Mills County poor farm, where he had been an inmate for some years. He was born in NY state in 1805 and moved to Mills County in 1859, locating near Pacific Junction. He has no descendants living (01 Jan 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Hubbell, Mrs. Naaman. Rev. W. E. Haddon of the LDS church conducted the funeral services of Mrs. Naaman Hubbell Sunday at the Christian Church (Bartlett). There was a large attendance. (19 Feb 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Jamison, David M., one of the early settlers of Mills County and a resident of Glenwood for upwards of 50 years, died at his home on Tuesday morning at 5 o'clock of infirmities incident to old age. He was in his 90th year and for several years had been in poor health. He was born in Elkton, Maryland, 07 Jan, 1820, and came to Glenwood in the early fifties. He is survived by a wife, two sons and two daughters, all living in Glenwood. Both sons are prominent business men, D. G. Jamison, the dry goods merchant, and W. L. Jamison, the druggist. The daughters are Miss Lizzie Jamison and Mrs. Ella Landis. The funeral was held from the home on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock (03 Dec 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Lewis, Mrs. Henry C. We are sorry to chronicle the death of Mrs. Henry C. Lewis which occurred last Thursday morning 19 May at her home NE of Malvern after a few days illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Peter Jacobs and interment was made in East Liberty cemetery. (28 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

McCoy, Wm. T., an old resident of Silver City, died 24 Sep 1909, after an illness of several years duration. He was in his 50th year. The deceased was a relative of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Bell of Tabor. (08 Oct 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

McLean, William H. died 20 Mar 1909 at his home in Emerson, death resulting from ailments incident to old age. He had resided in Miss County for 29 years. (26 Mar 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Mud, Sam, a young man well-known in Malvern, and a brother of Mrs. Walter Smith, was accidentally killed at Serena IL last Thursday. Since leaving Malvern, he has been working for a butcher in Serena. He had gone to the slaughter house to kill a beef, and was found there dead with a rifle near him. No one saw the accident, but it is supposed that the rifle was accidentally discharged. The remains were brought to Malvern for interment, funeral services being held Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Wilkins. (14 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Myers, Mrs. William of Glenwood was killed last Saturday about a mile out of Pacific Junction while crossing the RR bridge. Her daughter Hazel was saved by jumping off the bridge into the shallow water 25 feet below. Mrs. Myers and daughter Hazel went to Pacific Junction on an early train to visit with a married daughter of Mrs. Myers, who resides a short distance from Pacific Junction on a farm. There being no one at the depot to meet them, they decided to walk to the farm, and took the RR as the shortest way there. They had proceeded about a mile and were about in the center of the bridge over Pony Creek when a fast train bore down on them. Mrs. Myers was literally paralyzed with fear, probably for the safety of her daughter, and was unable to move either forward or backward or to even leap from the bridge. Just as the engine was about to strike them, Hazel made a jump, cleared the bridge and landed 25 feet below in mud and shallow water from which she was rescued practically unharmed by the trainmen. Mrs. Myers body was frightfully mangled. Mrs. Myers was about 45 years of age, and the mother of 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls. Mr. Myers is a prominent business man of Glenwood. Norval, Nora, formerly residing near Hillsdale, died Monday at Omaha as a result of a sunstroke. The funeral took place at Plattsmouth, where he had lived for a number of years. He was born at Hillsdale 20 Sep 1879. He is survived by a wife. (23 Jul 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Parker, Mrs. Joseph & Son. Miss Viva Jackson went to Henderson Tuesday to be present Wednesday at the funeral of her aunt and cousin, Mrs. Joseph Parker and 14 year old son, who died Tuesday morning of pneumonia. (28 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Reed, Mrs. Rebecca. After a long illness, Mrs. Reed passed away at her home south of town (Malvern) Wednesday morning. The funeral was held Thursday at the late residence, conducted by Rev. W. A. Retelsdorf, John P., for a number of years a well known shoe merchant at Malvern, died Saturday at 11:30 A.M. at his home in Malvern. He was past 86 years of age and for some months had been quite feeble. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, of which the deceased was a member. Sanders, Jennie O'Neill. Word was received in Glenwood Friday of the death of Jennie O'Neill Sanders, who was at one time a resident of this city. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wash O'Neill, who formerly lived in Glenwood, and was in the livery business with Chas W. Evans. She will be remembered here as Jennie O'Neill, and a student of the high school. The family left about five years ago, and it is 3 years since she was married to Mr. Sanders. Sargent, Infant son. Mr. nd Mrs. Henry Sargent, living south of the city were called upon to mourn the death of their infant son last Monday. The little one was laid to rest in the Glenwood cemetery (12 Nov 1909 - (Opinion) Tabor Beacon)

Shepard, Miss May. The remains of Miss May Shepard who died at Tucson AZ, were brought to Hillsdale for burial, arrived last Monday. Willard Shepard, a brother of the deceased, came in charge. A short service was held Tuesday morning at the home of Walter Shepard followed by a public service at 11 o'clock at the Hillsdale M.E. Church, conducted by Rev. E. F. Goodrich. Smith, Mrs. Henry, who died in Emerson last week, is survived by a husband and 24 children, 33 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, 58 descendants in all. (07 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Tipton, Alex, a pioneer citizen and insurance man of SW Iowa, died Saturday afternoon, 01 May 1909 at 12:40 at his home in Council Bluffs. The remains were brought to Glenwood for burial on Monday. Mr. Tipton had been in failing health for six months and was taken suddenly ill whle at his office about a week before his death. He was past 74 years of age, having been born 24 Nov 1836, in Coshocten County OH. When a young man he came to McDonough County IL, remaining there till 1865 when he removed to Glenwood. He resided in Glenwood for upwards of 34 years, and moved to Council Bluffs some ten years ago. (07 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Tomlin, A. L., a former well known resident of Emerson, died 16 Mar 1909 at his home in Santa Ana CA. He was a pioneer lawyer of Emerson and resided there for a number of years. (26 Mar 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Tuck, "Ab", a prominent farmer and stock shipper, died Thursday morning of last week at his home near Glenwood after an illness of several months. The funeral was held Sunday, conducted by Elder Geo. Weavers of Tabor. (21 May 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Tucker, Arthur, the 12 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Tucker died Saturday 14 Aug 1909. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the M. E. church (Hillsdale) conducted by Rev. Mr. Boyd and the remains laid to rest in the Hillsdale cemetery. (27 Aug 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas, former residents of Glenwood, were murdered Monday on their ranch near Edgmont SD. A son-in-law is charged with committing the crime. The bodies were chopped to pieces with an ax. Mrs. Carter, mother of the murdered woman, still lives in Glenwood. (02 Apr 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Ward, Mrs. Sarah (Haines) died Saturday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McPherron, NW of Tabor in Mills County at the age of 71 years. She was born 05 Apr 1838, in Champion county, OH, and came to Henry county Iowa in 1840. She was married to Obed R. Ward in 1856, who died in 1880. To this union were born 8 children, all but one of whom are living. One son George having died in Monte Ne, Arkansas, in 1908. Funeral services were held on Monday at the home of Mr. McPherron, conducted by Rev. J. R. Ramsey, and interment was made in Fairview cemetery. (19 Mar 1909 - Tabor Beacon)

Wells, Frances Wells, 14 month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theron Wells, died Thursday forenoon. Dysentery following cholera infantum was the cause of it's death. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the home in north Tabor, and interment made in Tabor cemetery. (06 Aug 1909 - Tabor Beacon)
