Hillsdale item Donaldson, Mr., an aged and respected citizen died suddenly and unexpectedly. On Sunday morning after having eaten, when he got up from the table he fell to the floor dead. He was a member of the M.E. church.

Three funerals at Liberty church within a week. Mrs. L. C. Barker, George Foster of Hastings, both on 12 Dec. and on the 13th Mr. Tomson who was kicked in the face by a horse.

Record, Mrs. James, died on Saturday 8 Jan. She suffered from consumption. She leaves a husband and two small children. The husband within a year has lost his wife, brother and grandmother.

Hubbell, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. lost their 10 year old daughter Tuesday night from membranous croup. Two other children of the family are suffering from the same ailment.

Jas. Hoover, brother-in-law of H. H. Huffaker and one of the city's esteemed citizens. He fell from a sleigh, dead. Deceased was a painter, aged about 50. He leaves an invalid wife

James Hoover,, born in Warren, Trumbull, Ohio, on 23rd of August in 1836His wife was Annarpy (Huffaker) whom he married in 1867 in Beulah county IL. He served during the Civil War.

Mrs. Willis Kelley and child, formerly of Hillsdale now a resident of Corning. On the 9th the Kelley's oldest child died of membranous croup and on Sunday following the mother died of heart disease.

John H. Plumer funeral held at the Brick church in the Plumer settlement. The funeral services were conducted in German.

Alfred M. Delavan, Sen., age 75 d. 24 Apr 1883 at his home in Rawles Township. Born in New Jersey, near Jersey City, 27 Jul 1808. Came to Mills county in 1863. Married 9 Jul 1834 to Olive Shaw, a native of Dayton Ohio. Parents of 8 children, 6 now living.(buried in Pleasant Hill cemetery)

Maurice Burnham, of Ingraham Township - his child of 4 or 5 years was missing and finally after a search was found to have fallen in a well which was 40 feet deep. Funeral at Liberty church.

Harris, Mrs. Frank, of Malvern, three weeks ago a son was born to her and since that time she had been in poor health. Funeral services at the Presbyterian church.

Maggie E. Harris died 29 Aug 1883 - 28y 1m 20d. She was born in Lawrence Co, PA 9 Jul 1855 and moved in 1865 to Scotland Co. MO where she resided until her marriage to F. C. Harris in 1875. She leaves her husband and two small sons.

Maggie Foster, formerly of Malvern, later of Lincoln NE, came here to take a teacher's course but soon contracted typhoid and she died on Monday.

C. W Lafkin, late editor of the Glenwood Opinion, died last Sunday morning. He has been in failing health for some months. The funeral took place Monday afternoon conducted by the Knights of Pythias, of which he was a member. The deceased was about twenty seven years old. Born and reared in Glenwood.

Elizabeth Kerney died at the home of her son in Washington Township, Pottawattamie county on 21 Oct 1883, age 57y 4w 1d, after an illness of ten months. Born in Westmorland county, England and came to America with her parents in 1838.

McKee, Ezra, son of Robert McKee of Glenwood, met with an accident while in the employ of the rail road company at Tracy, Minnesota.

Rev. W. L. Edmonds, Typhoid fever took the life of Rev. Edmonds, pastor of the M. E. Church. He leaves a wife and five little boys, the oldest of which is 14 and the youngest 3 years. The funeral rites were conducted in part by the I.O.O.F of which he was a member. One hundred and twenty five members of that order took part in the ceremonies. The funeral was said to have been the largest ever held in Malvern. Deceased was born in Canada 4 Oct 1845.

Spencer, Mrs. Sarah A., daughter of G. W Sidener and wife of Mr. P. Spencer died 22 Nov 1883. She was born in Decatur county Indiana 4 Aug 1849, came to Iowa in 1867, married on 19 Oct 1871.

Sidener, Easter, wife of Sidney G. Sidener, died on 26 Nov. She was the mother of Mettie who died the day before, both of the same disease. Daughter-in-law of G. W. Sidener. She leaves one son and a husband.
