A native of England, was a veteran of the Civil War.
He enlisted at Beverly, Illinois, on 5 August 1861 as a Private.
Mustered in Co. L 2nd Illinois Cavalry on 12 August 1861.
Mustered out on 22 November 1865 at San Antonio, Texas.
