To All Whom it May Concern

Know ye that Jesse Hines a Private of Captain Riley Jessups Company ("D) 33rd Regiment of Iowa Infantry volunteers who was enrolled on the eleventh day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty two to serve three years or during the war is hereby discharged from the service of the United States this seventeenth day of July 1865 at New Orleans, Louisiana by reason of Order of War Department. (No objections to his being re-enlisted is known to exist).

Said Jesse Hines was born in Bartholomew Co. in the State of Indiana, is 18 years of age, 5 feet 6 3/4 inches high, dark complexion, brown eyes, light hair and by occupation when enrolled a farmer.

Given at New Orleans, La. this Seventeenth day of July 1865.
