Military Discharge


Selinus Cheeseman


To all whom it may concern.

Know ye that Selinus Cheeseman a private of Captain Jos W. Gilson Company (E), eighty-third regiment of Illinois Vols who was enrolled on the thirty first day of July one thousand eight hundred and sixty two to serve three years is hereby discharged from the service of the United States this twenty fourth day of March 1863 at Paducah, Kentucky by reason of Surgeons Certificate of Disability.

(No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist)

Said Selinus Cheeseman was born in Eric Co. in the state of Pennsylvania is thirty seven years of age, five feet five and a half inches high, dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair, and by occupation when enrolled a farmer.

Given at Paducah, Ky. this twenty fourth day of March 1863
