First Baptist Church
Malvern

The Silver Creek Baptist Church was organized on December 26, 1857. Services were originally held in homes in the Britt and Follett neighborhoods and later moved to the Centerline Schoolhouse.

A new building was built in 1871, in Malvern, at the cost of $3000. W.A. Cain was called as the first Pastor. He ordained the church January 10, 1872. The first baptism was Marshall Angell.
