Flemings Take Over Operation of Local Store
Mr. and Mrs. Forest Fleming of Shenandoah have purchased and assumed operation of the Lorenz Grocery in Malvern.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lorenz are returning to Hamburg where they have taken over the operation of a Texaco station, tire shop and grocery which in recent months they had leased out. They left Malvern Thursday.

Mr. Fleming has been with the Montgomery Ward store in Shenandoah the last seven years but has had about 17 year's experience as a grocer. The Flemings formerly lived at Blanchard.

He is a member of the American legion and she the Legion Auxiliary. They are member of the Methodist church.

The Flemings have six children, but none are at home. They also have 12 grandchildren.

Malvern Grocery Store

Sold to B. F. Spooner
Malvern – The Corner Grocery changed hands las week when Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Fleming, who have been operating it, sold it to Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Spooner of King City, Mo.

The Spooners have two sons, Kenneth, 16, and Russell, 14.

Note: Store was on the southwest corner of West 7th St. & Main Street. On the corner just south of Casey's. The building is gone now. Grandpa bought it in August 1956, from Lester Lorenz, and sold it March 1957 to B.F.Spooner.I do not know if he ever actually changed the name of the store but old ad's say Fleming Grocery.
