DEATH OF HELGE LARSON
Well Known Resident Dies at His Home Christmas Morning
Helge Larson, one of the early settlers of Marshall county, died Christmas day at his home in LeGrand, of a complication of uremia and prostatis. Mr. Larson came to Marshall county almost a half century ago, and with the exception of a period of fourteen or fifteen years, lived in this county virtually all his life.
Mr. Larson was born in Roldahl, Norway, July 4, 1857, and came to this country in 1869, at the age of 12 years, his parents settling in Marshall county. Mr. Larson was twice married, his second wife being Josephine Erickson, wit whom he was united in marriage in Marshalltown, Jan. 5, 1882.
Mr. and Mrs. Larson made their home in Ida county for about nine years and resided for a short time in Tama county. In 1911 they moved to Vega, Tex., and five years ago returned to LeGrand, where they have since lived. Mrs. Larson died less than a month ago, on Nov. 29.
Mr. Larson was the father of eleven children, eight of whom survive. One child, born of the first marriage, died in infancy. Of the ten children by the second marriage, eight survive. They are E. J., Herman and Marion Larson, of LeGrand; Harry J. Larson, of Montour; Mrs. Oscar Turner, Mrs. James Sprouse and Dewey Larson, of Vega, Tex., and Private George J. Larson, of the United States army, stationed at Maria, Tex. One brother, Thore Larson, of Dunbar, and one sister, Rachel Nelson, of Marshalltown, also survive.
Funeral services will be held from the Friends church this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Helge Larson, of Le Grand, died Christmas Day after suffering from poor health for a long time. Mrs. Larson died suddenly of heart disease the day after Thanksgiving. The Larson family formerly lived west of Montour.
