Final Summons for Mrs. J. P. Johnson

 

Mrs. Ida Belle Johnson, wife of J. P. Johnson, 1315 East Boone Street, and mother of Desk Sargent Ray Johnson of the Marshalltown police department who had been in failing health for the last year and a patient at the Deaconess hospital for five weeks, passed away at 3 o'clock this morning at the hospital.  Death was caused by shock following an operation.

 

Mrs. Johnson was born Ida Belle Winters, daughter of Joseph and Jan Winters, in Marshall county, April 6, 1874.

Practically all her life had been spent in and around Marshalltown.

 

She was married to J. P. Johnson in this city, Aug. 2, 1891.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were the parents of eight children, two of whom died when small.  The surviving children are Walter Ray Johnson, Clarence Edward Johnson, Mrs. Henry Jagau, Mrs. Rella Baker, Mrs. Henry Schultz, and Mrs. A. L.

Kaufmann, all of this city.

 

A sister, Mrs. E. D. Batesole: three brothers, Frank A.

Winters, Elmer E. Winters and Fred Winters, all of this city, and ten grandchildren also survive.

 

Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Iowa River Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the Pursel funeral home.  Burial will be in th Iowa River Cemetery
