OBITUARY

Mae Gunderson, 95

TOLEDO -- Mae Gunderson, 95, Bethesda Care Center, Toledo, formerly of rural Marshalltown, died Wednesday evening, July 29, at the Bethesda Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, at the Stavanger Friends Church with the Rev. Richard Boatman officiating. Burial will follow in the Strand Lutheran Cemetery at Dunbar. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established.

Born December 22, 1896 in Tama County, she was the daughter of Knudt and Lena Roselnad [Roseland]Thompson. She receied her education in the area of her birth.

On Oct. 27, 1915, she was united in marriage to Jelmer Gunderson in Toledo and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1979. They resided in the Gilman area where they farmed until retiring to Dunbar.

Surviving are one daughter, Lola Hulin, LeGrand, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren.
