Clifford, John G.,

 

 

                                      Farmer, also stone and brick mason, Sec. 5, P.O. Marshalltown; owns 458 acres of land, valued at $35 per acre; born Dec. 1, 1833, in Gloucestershire, England; came with his parents to the United States in 1851, and settled at Dixon, Ill., where he remained till he came to this county, in March, 1854; stopped at Marshalltown, and followed his trade till about two years ago, when he came on to his present farm. He was married to Florence G. Barden Dec. 10, 1866, in this county; she was born June 22, 1848, in Tioga Co., N.Y.; have five children living—Albert, Charles, Ernest, Edwin and Harry; lost one—Eugene. In politics, Independent.
