Benjamin, Dwight,

 

 

                                      Far (farmer)., Sec. 12; P.O. Le Grand; owns a farm of eighty acres, valued at $4,200; born Jan. 8, 1821, in Cortland Co., N.Y.; he was left without a mother at the age of 11 years; his father moved into Steuben Co. in 1848, and remained there three years; afterward, he went to California, where he remained about two years, and then came to Whiteside County, Illinois; was there about seven years; he then came to Lyons, Iowa, where he remained eight years; he then came to this county, where he now lives. He was married to Lydia A. Head Feb. 15, 1845; she was born March 10, 1822, in Madison Co., N.Y.; have one daughter—Carrie V., born Jan. 16, 1861. Baptist; Republican in politics.
