They are both buried in Silent City Cemetery at Monroe Iowa.   (Author note: Sisters Mary Etta and Mary Emma Pendroy married two Rinehart   brothers.)
  5. Mary Etta Pendroy - (called Etta) born Feb 16, 1865 at farm south of Monroe Iowa. - died Nov. 1, 1949 at Monroe, Iowa. Etta Pendroy married Mel Rinehart in Oct 18, 1891. Etta is buried in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe Iowa.
  6. Edgar Grant Pendroy - Born May 1, 1868 - died March 19, 1964 in Jasper County Iowa at Monroe. On Feb 26, 1902, Edgar married Tempa (Flaugh) Wilson who was born Jan. 18, 1880. Tempa died at her home April 23 1976.  Edgar and Tempa are buried in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe, Iowa.

James Martin Pendroy enlisted in 40th Iowa Volunteer Infantry - Company H - Enlisted Aug. 14, 1862 at Newton Iowa. Left Italy, Iowa in 1883 and went to and founded Pendroy, North Dakota in McHenry Co, ND. Was a county Commissioner and County Judge in McHenry Co. ND. One of James Martin Pendroy's sons, Levi Boots Pendroy, (along with James Andrew Pendroy) went to and  founded Pendroy Montana, which still exists today.

  1. Daniel Pope (my GG grandfather) came with John to Iowa in 1850. Daniel was born April 30, 1828 in Sangamon Co. Il. He married Mary Jane Adams on May 16, 1852 in Knoxville, Iowa and died June 2, 1908 in Knoxville, Iowa buried in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa. Daniel and two of his brothers Dave and Hugh Pope were three of 39 members who met at Elm Tree Park in Washington Township in Gosport on February 4, 1863. They joined Company G 40th Infantry.

    Daniel and Mary Jane Pope's children were Nancy E., Charles Wesley, Margaret Okella, Sarah Samantha and my grandfather James Hamilton Pope born March 17, 1872 Knoxville, Iowa married to Lucinda Hummel on February 14, 1900 Knoxville, Iowa and died December 14, 1935 Knoxville, Iowa, buried in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville, Iowa.

    James Hamilton Pope had 4 children Helen E., Charles Hubert, James Forrest and Wilma. James Forrest, my father, was born December 6, 1912 in Marion County, Iowa married Josephine Alice Jones on June 20, 1939 in Iowa and died November 30, 1972 in Knoxville, 1972.
  2. Sarah Anne Pope born 1830 married first Leroy Furgison and then Eziral Crandall
  3. Hugh G. Pope born July 11, 1831 married first Elizabeth McConnaughey and then Jane E. Barry, Hugh died February 6, 1918 in Madrid, Iowa buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
