Madison County Genealogical Society

Dues are $5.00 per person or $8.00 per family payable January 1 of each year. Life membership is $115. Each member receives a quarterly newsletter and free queries.

Madison County Historical Society

While there visit the Museum and the Research Library, the Bevington-Kaser House, the Stone Barn, the Pleasant View Log Post Office, the Log Schoolhouse, the Field Mercantile Store, the Martin Gas Station, the Law Office, the Tusha Country School, the Elmer McKee Agricultural Building, the Blacksmith Shop, Zion Church, the Bennet-North River Stone School and the Winterset Railroad Depot.  Membership  -  $5.00 annually or $50.00 lifetime 

Madison County Court House

The County Clerk's office has Civil court and divorce records from 1861, wills, immigration & naturalization records, locked adoptions, probate records from 1852, and guardianship records. The County Recorder has death records from 1880, birth records, marriage records from 1855, burial records from 1849, and land records.
