Looking for Shoemakers in Macksburg, Madison Co., IA. The Rev. William Shoemaker, a Methodist minister, lived there from ca. 1850 to his death in February 1879. He was married twice. First to Eliza Ann Witham, second to Mary McGonigle. I believe other Shoemakers came to Iowa with this family. In particular, I believe Rev. William's nephew, John A. Shoemaker may have accompanied him. Any information appreciated!! Many thanks.
