Has no monument. Monument next to his grave has this inscription: Rebecca G., wife of J. L. Greer, died Nov 19, 1892, age 50 yr 8 mo 18 da.

3. It appears that John L. Greer may have been a resident of Union County but joined the Macksburg Post because of its proximity to his farm.

4. Several letters and extra cards accompanied the GAR card. Contact the Madison County Coordinator for copies.
