The family is on the 1895 and the 1925 Census of Lucas Count. Other surnames are: FLUKE, WISHART, McMANNIS and ROHRER. Will exchange info with anone working on this line. My grandfather, William WHITE, states he was born in IA in May 1855. His parents were Horatio N. and Elma WHITE. The resided in Martins Ferry (Belmont) OH. Horatio was a "mechanic" by trade and patented a piece of farm machinery. Can anyone tell me where to find a birth registration or what took place in Iowa in 1855 that might have a bearing on farm equipment manufacturing? Thank you

Their son, Cassius Clay CURTIS was born in 1849 in Ohio. He married Sarah CHANCE in Chariton in 1870. Sarah CHANCE was born in Grant County, IN in 1849. Cassius and Sarah moved on from Chariton to Omaha, NE and then to Huron SD in 1906. They are my Great-Grandparents. His adopted name was Bert SANBORN and lived north of Russell, Iowa on a farm. He had six siblings and a twin brother by the name of Albert who kep the WAYLAND name.

HOWELL, Matthew and Jane Watkins - came from England with a large family and lived in Lucas County, Iowa from 1868-1870. Matthew died June 11, 1870 age 50 yrs. and is buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Liberty Township. Oakley is a town in the township. Two of the sons were named Matthew Jr. and Hohn Howell, my great grandfather. Jane Watkins Howell remarried and settled in Nebraska. Rebecca was born 13 Jun 1851 at What Cheer, Keokuk, IA. I have good documentation on this line from me to John RODGERS b. abt 1750 at Culpepper Co., VA and d. 1840 at Shelby Co., KY.
