Bruce A. Smith of West Liberty, formerly of Columbus Junction, CWO4 National Guard died at a field hospital in Iraq Nov. 2, 2003, after the helicopter he was piloting was shot down near Fallujah by a surface-to-air missile, buried at West Liberty, Iowa. |
| Trace Dossett formerly of Wapello, Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class, died in a mortar attack May 2, 2004, at Camp Fallujah in Al Anbar province west of Baghdad. Buried at Wapello Cemetery. |
