    DANIEL W. OVERHOLT, M.D., a prominent physician of this county, and now residing in Columbus City, was born on the 11th day of September, 1838, in Medina County, Ohio. He was the second of eight children, whose parent were Doctor John Overholt and Ester Krider. His parents were natives of Pennsylvania, and came to this county in the fall of 1852. His father is an eminent physician of our county, and has been practicing his profession ever since coming here.

    The early education of Daniel was a liberal education. In 1860 he entered the Cincinnati Medical College, but graduated from Keokuk Medical College in the winter of 1867. He immediately located at Grandview, and pursued the practice of medicine there with success till 1872. During this year e went to the Bellevue Medical College in New York and graduated from that institution in 1873. He after this practiced medicine in Leavenworth with success for a space of five months. He then returned to this county, and located in Columbus City, where he has since resided, successfully practicing his profession.

    During the spring of 1861 he was united in marriage to Belle Latta, a daughter of Judge S. M. Latta, of Leavenworth. He is the father of five children, three of whom are living. Politically the doctor is a republican. Religiously his views are not circumscribed by the doctrines of any particular church. He is broad and liberal in his religious views, and is a member of the Christian Church. Socially he is pleasant and affable, has been very successful at his profession, and enjoys the respect and confidence of his community.
