Pleasant Grove Bethel, a neat little church a mile and a half south-east of Fredonia, burned to the ground Sunday afternoon. There had been sunday school and church services there in the morning and it is supposed that the fire came from a defective flue. No one noticed anything wrong with the building until it was past saving. No insurance. The church was the property of the Church of God denomination. Rev. A. B. Chamberlin is the pastor. We do not know whether an immediate effort will be made to rebuild or not but suppose it will be, as the congregation is rather a prosperous one.
