The Fire at Letts.

Letts had the biggest fire in its history Thursday night of last week. All the buildings on the west side of the main street, from Eisenhardt's harness shop to the old co-operative store building, were burned to the ground. Only part of them were occupied, consequently the loss was comparatively small. All the buildings were old frame structures. The owners were D. W. Paine, F. B. Idle, D. W. Shellabarger, H. N. P. Small, Two; Snyder bros, and Dr. Thompson, two buildings and a stable, Masonic lodge, one; nine buildings in all. The total loss on buildings about $10,000. Total insurance, nearly $5,500. The stocks burned included those belonging to Miss Crane, about $500; H. G. Hartman, $500; Cochran's restaurant, $200. Miss Crane had no insurance, the others were fully insured.
