WEAVER LAW OFFICE ESTABLISHED IN 1892

This is the oldest law office in continuous service by the same family in Louisa County. It was established in 1892 by H. O. Weaver of Wapello and was maintained as solo practice until 1932 when Mr. Weaver was joined by his son, W. O. Weaver, and the firm of Weaver and Weaver was formed.

Since the death of H. O. Weaver in 1933, the office has been under the management of W. O. Weaver.

Both Mr. H. O. Weaver and his son, William O. Weaver, were graduates from the Acts and Law College at the University of Iowa.

     W. O. Weaver was admitted to practice law in the state of Iowa in 11932 and the state of Illinois in 1940. He is a member of the Louisa County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association.

On June 14, 1941, Margaret Hall became the wife of William Weaver and they have the following children: Joan, age 13; Nancy, 11, Jane, 9 and William Hall Weaver, 5.

Mr. Weaver has served on many convention committees of The Iowa State Bar Association and recently was chairman of a committee which, with the cooperation of the State University of Iowa, conducted an economic survey of the lawyers of Iowa.

The Weaver family reside in the old family home of H. O. Weaver located at 511 South Second, here in Wapello.

In addition to his general law practice, Mr. Weaver is also the president of the Louisa County Abstract and Title Company which was formed in 1948. The title company is managed by Mrs. Dorothy Bonar of Wapello and has membership in The Iowa Title Association and American Title Association. This firm maintains a micro-film file of records of Louisa County, Iowa from which real estate is processed.

Mr. Weaver also maintains an extensive law library which is regarded as one of the most complete and largest in this section of Iowa. The library was founded by the father of William O. Weaver, Mr. H. O. Weaver.
