THE WAPELLO LOCKER CO.

    The Wapello Locker Company has been operated by Everett McCleeary since September 12, 1955 when he leased it from Don Pogemiller, who operated the place for 14 years previous.

    Everett is well known throughout Wapello as “Butch” having had charge of the meat department at the Economy Super Market for Mr. Roundy. “Butch” also was with the Roman and Libbe Company in their locker plant for five years before coming here.

    He was in the United States navy from 1941 to 1943.

    Mrs. McCleary was Naomi Wakeland of Millersburg, Ill., before meeting Butch”. The couple have four daughters.
