SPEEDEE CLEANERS IS WELL EQUIPPED

    Speedee Cleaners in Wapello has been operated by Levi Winfrey since 1950. The business was originated in that year by George Smith. Mr. Winfrey leased the business in the Fall of 1950 and then purchased it in the Spring of 1952. The building is now owned by Harve Hedges, and is located on North Second St.

    The plant is completely equipped with modern dry cleaning and pressing equipment. They also provide rough dry laundry service.

    Mr. Winfrey is also pastor of the Mt. Union Baptist Church, having taken all college needed, but never taking a degree, for the ministry.

    He has been associated with dry cleaning since 1925. He married Mable Flayharty of Mt. Union. They have four children: Nancy, who is a graduate nurse; Kendall, in college; Lorel, a senior; and Burton, a freshman.
